0 Ottawa Bodybuilding Precontest Diet Progress Report - Week 2

Here's week 2 of Greg Charron's Pre-contest diet for the Ottawa Bodybuilding Contest on Sat Nov 6th.

Second Week of Diet

The first week out of the way, I feel much more confident with how the diet works.  Not to mention the obvious of working really hard in the gym and being strict.  The way Shane has explained it to me, I know if I follow his instructions to a T, I will be in the best shape in my life come show day!

Week 2

This week I'm noticing my muscles are getting bigger, and I'm getting leaner at the same time.  I always thought that wasn't possible, but it's exactly what's happening.  My mood is also much better, but I guess that's due to the dramatic increase in calories.  Another benefit to this increased calorie intake is my energy for training is way up there now.

It's really been great, I've often got questions about how or why my diet and training are set a certain way, and Shane always has an answer that actually makes sense to me.  Even when it's pretty technical, he makes it seem simple to understand, which definitely increases my confidence with what I'm doing!

Week 2

I met with Shane on Friday morning and he took progress pics again.  I was so happy with my quick results and so was Shane... It's a good thing when your coach is pleased!

Shane's eye for shape and symmetry must come in part from his 17 years of judging bodybuilding shows.  I was shocked to learn that.. but to be honest, it was also one of the reasons I hired him.  On top of knowing his stuff when it comes to training and diet, he's got an almost unfair advantage by knowing exactly what the judges are looking for.  So when we work on posing, he's got amazing tips on how to present my body in the best possible way!

I also bug Shane quite a bit on ideas for areas that I don't find respond well to my training, and he's always got tips that not only sound good, but seem to really work!  I think you'll see what I mean come the day of the show!

Shane and I have a really good working relationship. It's like a race car driver. He's not much good to the pit crew manager if he does not know how to talk about his car and the issues at hand. He gives me new instructions for the next week, and I follow them verbatim, and presto.. results!

Can't wait for each week!

but thanks to Dave, the perfect homemade protein bar exists!! One that has all the good stuff and none of the bad.

And, in addition from being healthy, they are super cheap to make: less than 50 cents per bar!!!

Hope you enjoy these bars! :)

0 The Cardio Machine that Sucks

By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS

Recently, I was in Tampa, Florida, at a seminar. Between sessions, a physician from Georgia stopped me in the hall and said, "Hey Craig, you were right about those crosstrainer machines. I've had your program for a few months now and I'm getting better results with the bodyweight circuits."

It's always great to meet clients, and I was curious to find out how he heard of me. Turns out, he found me through Google, landing on an article I wrote about "how elliptical machines (crosstrainers) suck for fat loss".

That's right, I think those machines are almost a complete waste of time.

"I was using one of those machines for a long time and was wondering why I wasn't getting any results," the physician continued, "I'm so glad I found your program and now I'm using the bodyweight circuits from the Dumbell-Bodyweight Fusion Workout", he added.

I told him how I wasn't surprised. In fact, I've never personally known anyone to get great results with one of those crosstrainer machines. Now I've watched really lean people use them, but they didn't get lean with those machines.

I know some people will be angry with what I have to say because they like exercising on the crosstrainer, but the truth is that they just don't work as well as harder forms of interval training.

And hey, any time you are traveling or want a break from regular interval training workouts, you can use one of the 4 bodyweight circuits from the TT DB-BW Fusion Fat Loss program that you get as a bonus when you order the Turbulence Training fat burning workout routine.

0 You Must Watch This Video If You Care About Your Health

Did you ever see the film "Super Size Me?"

You know, the one where the guy from New York (Morgan Spurlock) ate only McDonald's for 30 Days.

Well I want to share with you an exclusive behind the scenes interview with Morgan that will knock your socks off but I'll get to that in just a second…

I want to first explain why I'm sharing this. There's a common issue that I keep noticing with people who are trying to create change or growth in their life.

And unfortunately I don't think it's talked about enough by many people out there…even though it's the big elephant in the room.

Here's what I keep noticing...

People keep talking about how they want to achieve goals like making more money or improving their relationships but they just don't have the energy.

And they're missing a really key component that plays a huge role in their energy…

That's why I want to share an amazing fr*ee video with you that is an in depth and personal interview with Morgan Spurlock, the director of the film "Super Size Me"

http://bit.ly/9QPiIH

In case you don't remember, "Super Size Me" was the blockbuster movie that exposed the major health risks of eating a processed diet.

In fact right after the film was released McDonald's got rid of their whole "Super Size" concept.

It's part of an amazing fr*ee video series that also includes Dr. Joel Fuhrman, raw food expert David Wolfe and Mike Adams that is being released for a limited time only.

In case you didn't figure it out yet, the thing that people keep ignoring when it comes to their personal success is... their health.

And here's the thing… health tends to be the big elephant in the room that people ignore in their lives until it's too late.

They tend to think… "it's too difficult to be healthy and I'm too busy to worry about it."

But let me tell you that the information that Morgan shares in this video and that is shared in this entire fr*ee video series will make health about 20 times easier for you.

And it will make having unlimited energy and totally clarity of mind an everyday thing, not just a once in a while thing.

You'll see what I mean after you watch this video:

http://bit.ly/9QPiIH

The video series is being released by the makers of the film "Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days," a film that was essentially the opposite of Morgan's film (eating good food for 30 days instead of bad food), and is getting amazing reviews.

If you're struggling with any health issues or if you'd just like to know how to drastically improve the level of health, energy and vitality that you have on a daily basis then I highly recommend you watch this video with Morgan and the entire video series being released.

In fact, I don't think there's a single person who couldn't benefit from watching these videos. They're just that important…

Check out the video with Morgan Spurlock right away.

To your health,

Arthur M.

P.S. - I'd like for you to ask yourself an important question. What would your life be like if you had unlimited energy? What else could you achieve if you never got sick and were always full of energy?

Maybe it's time you find out…

0 Why Bodybuilders Hate Turbulence Training

By: Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS
http://bit.ly/8ASh80

Bodybuilders are not a fan of Turbulence Training. I don't know why, but for some reason getting a workout done in less than 45 minutes really ticks them off.

I remember when I first tried out the Turbulence Training 2K3 workout from my TT for Fat Loss manual. It was in the dark and grungy downstairs weight room of System Fitness in the High Park area of Toronto - maybe you've even been there.

Anyways, that gym is full of bodybuilders. And hey, I have nothing against them, but they always gave me a hard time when I went in there and finished my supersets and entire workout so fast they didn't even have time to finish training their biceps.

Perhaps you know how long and slow those bodybuilder isolation workouts are...well no one has time for those anymore.

But the bodybuilders would sit there with their weight belts on(why did they need a weight belt to do chest exercises?), sweatsuits, clown pants, and bloated bellies and just stare while I went through my workout and they talked for 5 minutes between sets.

But I still had a lot of fun doing the TT 2K3 workouts back then, way back in the winter of 2003. It truly is one of my favorite workouts - and it is one of the TT workouts that gets the most positive feedback from TT clients.

You'll get an arm pump just as good as any bodybuilding lunk who spends THREE times as long doing all his isolation exercises. But you'll get the extra benefits of working your abs and boosting your metabolism with the total body exercises in the TT 2K3 program.

So don't believe the bodybuilders when they say you have to train a separate body part each day...because that doesn't work for people who live in the real world and have real commitments but still want to burn body fat and build muscle.

Go in there, and show them just how fast you can get a great workout with the TT2K3 workout from the Turbulence Training manual.

PS - Turbulence Training Beats Bodybuilding Programs for Men & Women

"I have been in love with Turbulence Training ever since I started. I am 6'3", 28/M and my starting weight/body fat% was 208 pounds and 18.4% body fat. The mix of weight training with the high intensity intervals is the perfect fitness program. I really didn't believe it would be difficult until I started it. WOW what a burn!! I have finished the TT2K3 and 2K4. In these 5 months, I have upped my dumbell press weight 30 lbs from using 60s to 75s. I can't wait to start TT2K5 next week and see where I can get my bench up to. After 22 weeks of TT, I am now down to 190 lbs and 10.8% body fat."
Nick Walters, New York, NY

"I've done just about everything from Turbo Jam, P90X, to trying to piece together my own workout, but didn't get the results I've seen with Turbulence Training. My problem has always been my legs. No matter what I tried I have never been able to reduce the size of my thighs. I've tried the numerous leg routines featured in countless women's fitness magazines, but nothing worked. But with Turbulence Training I began to notice that my thighs looked smoother and more toned. Even my calf muscles were a lot more shapely. And I started seeing these changes about three weeks into the program. And I got these result without killing myself. The workouts are efficient and a lot of fun. I recommend this program to any woman who is struggling to lose that stubborn lower body fat. It is truly a godsend. A heartfelt thank you."
Andrea Dunham

"Been using TT 4 years, love the newsletters. I use the 2K3 all the time, started off with the original ages ago. I lost 35 pounds in around 2 years & i'm 38 years old!"
